The IRMA-HCT assay offers a specific measurement of mature calcitonin without cross-reactivity with proCT. The assay kit has been developed to reach an optimized functional sensitivity of 4pg/mL and offers an extended range of 0-1500 pg/mL.

Two monoclonal antibodies, specific to native monomeric calcitonin recognizing the 23 ? 32 amide region and 11 ? 17 regions, are used for the sandwich. The first monoclonal antibody is adsorbed onto the tube walls. The second monoclonal antibody, radiolabelled with iodine-125, is used as the tracer.
*One-step assay procedure: 20h at RT.
