C-peptide immunoradiometric assay kit

The IRMA-C-PEP kit is designed for an immunoradiometric (IRMA) type of assay, used on serum, plasma or urine samples. Two monoclonal antibodies, one labelled with iodine 125 and the other adsorbed onto the inner walls of the tubes, enable a sensitive, specific assay (detection limit 0.012 nmol/L) of Peptide-C. Standardization has been carried out on NIBSC 84 /510.

Features

  • Working range: 0 ? 6.0 nmol/L or 0 ? 18 ng/mL (NIBSC 84/150)
  • Sample: serum, plasma or urine ? 50 ?L
  • Analytical sensitivity: 0.012 nmol/L or 0.036 ng/mL
  • Functional sensitivity: -

Applications

  • Differential diagnosis between type 1 (T1DM) and type 2 (T2DM) diabetes mellitus
  • Assessment of residual β-cell function in diabetes under insulin therapy
  • Detection and monitoring of remission period in type 1
  • Diagnosis of insulin induced factitious hypoglycemia
  • Contribution to insulinoma diagnosis

Assay principle

IRMA

Coated tubes

Two monoclonal antibodies directed against sterically remote sites on the C-peptide molecule are used for the sandwich. The first monoclonal antibody is adsorbed onto the tube walls. The second monoclonal antibody, radiolabelled with iodine-125, is used as the tracer. Prior to being assayed, urine samples may be diluted (1/21).
*One-step assay procedure: 2h at RT / shaking.
