Insulin immunoradiometric assay kit

The BI-INS-IRMA kit is an immunoradiometric assay (IRMA) used on serum or on EDTA or heparined plasma samples. Two monoclonal antibodies, one radiolabelled with iodine 125 and the other adsorbed onto the inner walls of the tube, enable a sensitive (detection limit 0.2 ?UI/mL) specific assay of human insulin, in particular because of a cross-reaction <0.0001 with human pro insulin.

Features

  • Working range: 0 ? 500 ?IU/mL or 0 ? 20 ng/mL (1st IRP 66/304)
  • Sample: serum or plasma ? 50 ?L
  • Analytical sensitivity: 0.2 ?IU/mL (8 pg/mL)
  • Functional sensitivity: -

Applications

  • Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus
  • Early detection of diabetes mellitus before clinical signs
  • Monitoring of metabolic control in diabetic patients
  • Prognosis factor for the risk of coronary incident
  • Diagnosis of insulinoma

Assay principle

IRMA

Coated tubes

Two monoclonal anti-insulin antibodies are used to form a sandwich. One monoclonal antibody is adsorbed onto the tube walls, while the second monoclonal antibody is radiolabelled with iodine 125.
*Two alternative assay procedures: measurement of immunoreactive insulin (free insulin + insulin bound to anti-insulin antibodies) 2h at RT / shaking, and measurement of free insulin 15 min centrifugation + 2h at RT / shaking.
