The principle of the assay is based on a competition between iodine-125 radiolabelled cortisol and cortisol contained in the samples for a fixed and limited number of anti-cortisol polyclonal antibody binding sites adsorbed onto the tube walls.
*One-step assay procedure: 1- Serum: 2h at 37°C; 2- Saliva: 30 min at 37°C.
