The use of two monoclonal antibodies, one labelled with iodine 125 and the other adsorbed onto the inner tube walls, enables a specific, sensitive assay of the 22 kDa form of the hormone (detection limit 0.01 ng /mL). In conformity with European recommendations, the kit has been standardized with the 2nd IS 98/574 (1ng=3?IU).
